I saw a DATELINE or 60 MINUTES bit on it. Basically, this guy gives homeless guys booze if they fight each other or do stupid "Jackass" type stunts while he videotapes them. It's really sick.

a friend of mine told me last year that the university of tennissee chapter of his fraternity was kicked off campus for giving beer to bums and making them fight... is there now a movie about the same thing? some people need to rethink thier state of being.

I bought a copy of Bumfights last summer when it was first premiered.

I believe their is only two scenes where bums actually fight each other.

The majority of the film is just street fights caught on tape from schools and ****. They actually catch a L.A. gang fight on tape, its pretty wild stuff.

THey also go around and capture bums and call that segment the "Bum Hunter." They also spray paint bums while they sleep and get them to do stupid stunts, like drink piss or light there hair on fire.

Also a few segments of crackheads smoking crack etc.

But majority is school fights, with harrassing homeless people mixed in.

Nothing special to say the least


A funny thing to mention though, 2 of the homeless people were offered a certain amount of cash, (25 grand I think) to do these videos and they didn't get it so they sued the kids.
This movie was made by a bunch of high school kids, and they totalled a net profit of 6 million dollars in one summer selling it online. So now these kids are all in court battling against the bums.

i've always have had respect for homeless people and crack heads...my dad works with them...not as in "help" them but he goes to a shelter and hires them to help him work...my dad is in construction shi t...

so like my dad'a best friend is a bum...who is also a friend of mine...he's a cool guy...matter o fact he'll be appearing in some of the films i'm working on...he's funny....he's a funny guy.

and as 4 crack heads.....most my friends are on drugs......along with about 65% of the highschool i go to.

I am almost fed up with this site. Where has Kubrick77 gone? Ever since this "Kubrick77_is_a_moron" guy showed up, the real Kubrick77 has disappeared. And now this whole community is talking about crack and weed and class trips to Canada.

I'm not tryin to get all tensed up and freak out, but DAMN, why don't you guys go make movies or something?!

As much as it pains to come to the defense of Kubrick77 (he's certainly irked me before with some posts), I have to agree with pgPyro. Singling one guy out and making it uncomfortable for him to be here is total bull shi t. Whether you agree with what he has to say or not has nothing to do with it. DON'T BE A LITTLE KID! CUT OUT THIS SHI T.

Even when you're right for doing something like lambasting "I Slept With Your Wife" for fetishizing
the homeless and people who are battling with drug
addiction, this kubrick77_is_a_moron stuff is just making YOU look like a moron, and helps none of us.

Ok, the bum fights thing is absolutley disgusting. Do some research on the homless and you will find that more than 80% suffer from mental illness. Meanwhile we live in a country that couldnt give two S***S and trys to sweep the problem under the metaphoric rug. Then get in a position where you are living in the real world, and can see how easy it could be to end up that way. Divorce, getting laid off, even a few bad months and you could lose your hiome, your car, essentially everything. Factor in the fact that you cant get a job without an address for a residence, and a phone number and you can see how hard it could be to pick yourself up. When you throw mental health and addictions into the mix it is damn near impossible.

These kids have made over 6mill doing this crap. They are also in trouble with the government after being investigated. They would have been left alone, but one of them encouraged to homless to fight (one was severly hurt) and kept shooting as paramedics tried to administer aide (he didnt even bother calling 911 when the one guy was hurt) Morons! They deserve everything they get, or loose.

On another note this site has gone downhill. This is about film, and film making. I dont mind us sharing a little of our personal experiences out of film, or an amussing story but we tend to wander. There are other boards for that. Just a thought.

Pyro- I have said this countless times to "GO MAKE MOVIES." You think with all these people on here talking about movies and harrassing people about their movies cuz they film "ninja's", you think they'd actually be out making flicks.. I guess not.
