House of 1000 Corpses was a damn good movie... if you understand what he was trying to do. Rob Zombie wasn't trying to make a movie that was at all new or innovative. He wanted to make what was, perhaps, the last 70's B horror movie ever made, and he followed the formulas and cliches EXACTLY. The only thing he didn't do was turn to the camera and wink, making you constantly wonder if it's a joke or just terrible writing. It was neither. It was a recreation.

A really original and nostalgic way of filmmaking. I liked it.

Oh come ON! He could've done a BETTER JOB THAN THAT!!!! I mean the characters were so dull and retarded...nothing reminded me of 70s Horror flicks AT ALL except for a car breaking down and going to a house. I thought the movie was god awfull....Rob Zombie has an edge over a lot of filmmakers out there.....HE LOVES THE GENRE OF HORROR....he could really do something COOL and ORIGINAL if he put his mind to it. He could make a totally sweet horror movie....I've seen his house on MTV Cribs...the guy knows horror films.

You rock man! I was going to put that down but you all might have laughed at me. A goofy movie was the funiest thing I've ever seen, and most of it was unintentional. LIke the errors such as the background characters being frozen and not animated for minutes of time in a scene. The best part of the movie is when max acts like the MJ rip off, powerline.

Let me tell you something though, I rented that a while ago with all my friends, and we started making a voice over remake of the film. We redid every scene. In our new version, Max is the only strait kid in the whole town, and it is common for people to be gay/lesbian. When he starts to fall for Roxanne, the principle phones his dad warning that if he continues to be strait, he'll end up in the dildo chair. So Goofy takes max on the fishing trip to turn his son gay like him. The best parts were the songs. When max sings like powerline in front of everyone, I changed the lines to "Some people might mistake the fact that I'm gay, maybe that's because.. I just.. had sex with clay.. last name ramst.. he ramst his pe3nis inside of my a#$.. and made me turn into a big a$$ molly ass...
But that was a mistake, and I'll do whatever it takes (to Roxanne)
to stick my di&k up your a$$.. I need to.. stand out.. like my boner in your a&&.. my beef in your taco.. cause I won't rape you tommorow..

Okay I'm starting to get carried away..
I hope you were +18 if you read all that..

House of 1000 Corpses wasn't crap.
In fact, it was far from it.
Like it was said before, Rob wasn't trying to break new ground with it. He was just trying to make a good 70's feel movie.
And jesus freakin christ, Sid Haug as a killer clown...what MORE can you want from life?
It was stylish, effective, and although not all that scary, it was cool as hell.
I think it was a job well done for his first time out.
