David Lynch's new film, Inland Empire, just came out in limited theatres. I am so excited about this. People are saying it's his most experimental film since Eraserhead. I love David Lynch. Anyone else seen/going to see this?

Blast. This is not being released in any theatre in Indiana. This may be worth a trip to Chicago to see... I need something to distract me from this film or I won't be able to sleep/think about anything else. Ah!My mind is in such a state of unrest over this.

There is no possible way I can wait until June 8, 2007 for the DVD to be released

Man you beat me to the topic. I don't know how I feel about Lynch, I've never been able to make any sense out of Mullholland Drive or Eraser Head, but the moods they provoke are worth the time it takes to watch them. You do got to hand it to him though, he does what he wants regardless of what studio pressure (i.e. shooting on regular DV for aesthetic purposes, and those crazy plotless scripts he writes)is put on him. I'll probably end it seeing it when it's released here (which is like the 29th I think).

I've been waiting for this for ages. Does anyone know if it's going to get a wide theatrical realease? I am really looking forward to the experience of a Lynch film in an actual theatre, and sudiocanal better not take that away from me.

Limited edition two-disc set is only $15 on amazon. I am so unbelievably excited...I have been waiting feverishly for this day for almost a year!

There is also a great 10 minute exclusive video on the amazon page...a little bit about the process of creating Inland Empire (his method of story capturing is so amazing) and a little bit about how film is dead. If Lynch says film is dead...it is. I pretty much respect his opinion more than anyone else on the planet.

From what I have heard:

Teacher: It's a 3 hours nightmare. It's not about anything, I hated it.

Student: But that's the point the movie.

Teacher: Too easy. But I did almost feel asleep.

That sums of two of the most common gross misconceptions about Lynch works. (that they are either pointless or intended to be that way)
Lynch is much more about intuition and the subconscious. People aren't as confused or lost in Lynch's work as they think they are.

its funny the whoel time watching it i was the traditional silent viewer with the feeling of "it was interesting" in mind, yet away from it i am bombarded with alternative thinking views on it. I will write a conclusion on this film when i view it 20 years from now.

I am so overwhelmed with jealousy! I love everything about him. If I come down with a terminal illness my request to make-a-wish foundation will be to watch this man at work and maybe drink some of his own signature blend coffee with him afterwards. Im not even joking.

After my yearlong wait, Inland Empire finally arrived in the mail yesterday. It was so beyond worth it. I love it. Never have I seen such a blend of breathtaking beauty and mind-shattering terror. I actually only got through the first 2 hours last night...I will have to watch the rest tonight. I was seriously hyperventilating and almost crying in fear, it was just way too much for my fragile brain for one night. I knew I had to quit watching or risk permanent mental damage or insomnia for weeks.

In my opinion, its the best film I have ever seen...and I still have an hour and half left to watch of it

Just watched it last night (in my schools theatre with superb sound I might add!) and I have to say... it's definitely one of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had watching a film. I do need to watch it again though as I was honestly too terrified to really try and make sense of the film... Maybe that was the intention... Other than Inland Empire, I can't even remember the last film that made me want to cover my eyes and ears half the time.
