Good Evening... I have in my possession 4 2 hour plus 16 mm wildlife films complete with various sound scores, one of which is hte London Philharmonic. Each film is in excess of 2 hours in length and is an epic adventure along the lines of National Geographic or Untamed World.

My question is who do I go to to convert these masterpieces to a digital format and what will it cost. I am in Edmonton, Alberta. Any service local to Alberta would be great.

I also have a number of priceless 8 mm Bolex tapes which need to be converted as well.

Thanks in advance,

Todd Oeming

IM FROM EDMONTON TOO!!!!
In edmonton, you can get a transfer done at Studio Post. But it will be pretty expensive... probably along the lines of 2000-3000 dollars. You could also contact FAVA who has a ghetto 16mm telecine, but it doesn't have very great quality. Your cheapest option would be to DIY it by videotaping the footage off of a wall where it is being projected...
