Makes the $10.75 I fork out for every movie in NYC feel a lot cheaper. The horrors of the deep south, eh? Razz

Why arent theatre ticket prices relative to the length of the movie you go and see? You go to see a three and a half hour movie, and it costs you $5.75 (here in Indiana, that is). You go to see a one and a half hour movie, and it still costs $5.75. It doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me.

it was like 5 for students and 7.50 for adults for a long time but then it went up 25 cents then another 25 and so on , so for students it's 6.50 and its 8.50 for adults

I think it's actually $9.75 here now, no student discounts. And they have recently become food nazis. They've searched my girlfriend's purse before, and threw away my damn skittles. Bastards.

So for two people: $9.75 x 2 + $5.50 for popcorn + $4.75 x 2 for drinks + $4.50 for my mandatory hot dog = $39. And sometimes we get candy too. So $5.25 for mine and $4.75 for hers. $49 bucks. My god, my original estimate of $50 was right on. O_O I thought I was just making up a number. Sweet jesus...no wonder I never see movies in theatres. I absolutely can't stand seeing a movie without food and drink. Mad I should just stop seeing movies alltogether. Wait, no that would suck. I'd be lonely. Frown DAMN YOU HOLLYWOOD!

they searched your girlfriends purse? that's messed up, i usually have a 1 liter soda hanging out of my pocket and they dont care.

I saw the movie last night, and i was not impressed. it was way way too long. there was a lot of the movie that didnt need to be in there. and after a while the fight scenes would ware off and id almost fall alseep. but the cgi looked fantastical except for that whole part where everyones running down that valley and the large dinosaurs with the long necks and the raptors are chasing them.

Personally i thought it was a metaphor for how crazy filmmakers are. peter jackson for him filmming three lord of the rings movie and this, compared to that of a huge friggen ape.

I LOVED this movie. I have to say I was completley blown away. I don't really like Jackson very much, aside from LOTR of course. I always thought he just had a lucky break with those. He proved me wrong this time. The CGI as mentioned was awesome, absouloutley incredible. The special effects alone were cool, but that's not what made this a great movie. I didn't understand what titanium said when he was talking about how he made the audience feel for Kong, until I actually saw it. That has to be one of the best onscreen relationships I have ever seen. It was a sort of romantic relationship and it was very impressive how it was portrayed with only facial expressions, specifically their eyes. The acting was well done in my opinion was well. Anne and Jack had great chemistry as well. Sort of funny how Jack was always chasing Anne, but she was always chasing Kong. The scenery too, wow. That was just captivating alone. I saw it at AMC and I spent about $20 CDN. It was worth every penny. In my opinion this is THE movie of the year. Unbelievable. I can watch this again and I didn't even notice how long the movie was. Only at the end did a couple scenes drag for a bit. As soon as I started to notice, it picked up again so I had no problems with the length.

You think youve got it bad. Up here in Indiana the food security is so tight, I know maybe half a dozen people/friends that have gotten anal cavity searches. What do they think a costumer would try to hide in there?: "Excuse me sir, we just found this 1-liter bottle of Pepsi and a small bag of salted peanuts that you were apparently trying to smuggle into our theatres, we are going ot have to confiscate them". Its ridiculous.

(... and yes Im completely joking. I walked into a local theatre the other day with an armload of food. The management doesnt really care here.)

Only thing I really didn't like was the end when Jack and Anne were standing on top of the Empire Stare Building like is was no thing. Doesn't it usually get windy way up there? Plus some green screen shots were a little crappy. Other than that I liked how it followed the orignal and they didn't try to make heroes of anyone.

I agree with a couple green screen shots being a little lame. Mostly in the city. Jack and Anne standing at the top of Empire State Building could have been a little more dramatic, but I guess everyone wanted to see what happened to Kong, so they made that a quick scene. It should have been windy though.

Just saw it last night. Obviously the whole thing was fantasy, but some things were like "oh, come on." The animation never ceased to amaze me. I don't know, maybe it wasn't my type of film. I wanted it to end about an hour before it did. I glanced at my watch a good ways into the film thinking, "my god, he's not even in the city yet!" Then I yawned. Whatever. It was entertaining.

It used to be the same way here, up until a year ago. I could easily go to Panda Express and bring a full dinner in with me. I miss those days... Frown

I thought this WAS comedy. The maniacal glint in his eyes was amazingly funny. He was a great comic characters.

And what do you by the size of stick men exactly? I didn't notice that Smile

I haven't seen Kong yet so I really have no business being here:

Actually Black has wuite an impressive list of credits to his name before those comedies for example (Dead Man Walking for example). I don't know how he peformed in this film, but I think he is quite an accomplished actor (and musician. Tenacious D rocks!!!!)

We took in a pizza once. We asked the people at the counter and they were like "blah blah blah you're not supposed to but we are so spineless so we cave in blah blah blah". I hate the way they say you can't bring food in. They just want you to spend $50 on a large coke and some popcorn. Can't wait till I own my own theatre.
