Man this was a ****ing good movie. These kids are like ~10, and they're so witty and funny and can express themselves so clearly (well the main ones they follow anyway)
i can't imagine living in calcutta though.
anyway, uhm, it's a documentary, so i can't really explain it too much because it is what it is, so please visit these sites, and know that these are the kids the documentary is about:
i wish i could afford some pictures. uhm. yea. the movie has some very beautiful music in it as well, and it really focuses on the kids and what they want to do with themselves and never talks down to their mothers/family for being involved in criminal activities.
most tense moment: when the kids get tested to see if they are HIV positive.

yeah, a great film. It was very difficult to watch for me. So young and they lead such painful lives.
And it's nice to see people go to more interesting movies than what's cluttering the local multiplex. You live in Oakland. Is the grand lake theater still around? That was my local theater growing up and I used to always sneak into 'R's. Ahh, the memories.
yes, the grand is still around, i live a few blocks from it. they use part of the marquee to post up anti-Bush statements. Ah, california.
yea, that's what i love about up here, there's a lot of the old theatres left so you can watch movies in grand houses, and there's also lots of little, box-type theatres that will play really small movies.
it's kinda annoying that the movies i post here, most of the people on this board can't go see because they get such limited releases. it also annoys me that L.A. gets way more limited releases than we do.
=P
