I'm sorry for being a pretentious jerkwad. Don't know what my deal was. I dig that the first impression is the one people remember you by, but it'd be cool if you guys would forget, 'cus I'm not usually like that. So anyway...sorry. Everyone's different, everyone likes different things...and I do respect your opinions even though I didn't show it too well in the Pan's Labyrinth thread. You guys obviously know what I'm into by now so I'll just leave it at that and try not to be a jerk when I post from now on. Concise, conservative, valid and thoughtful: those type of points are the best points, right? Those weren't the type I was making, so that's how I'll try to respond from now on, okay?

That is actually really cool of you Hall, thank you. I kind of know where you're coming from (the whole not liking it when people call something the greatest movie ever thing), because I know that to you I'm limited in knowledge, which is ok by me because I know I am. There's people at my school though that talk about how great You and Me and Everyone We Know is, or how much of a classic Zoolander is and they call themselves film buffs or whatnot, and that annoys me. This doesn't really make much sense, but I guess I'm just trying to say you can have the right to be annoyed at me if you want, lol. I'm definately going to check out Oldboy now, it looks pretty cool.
**** you can get angry and you don't have to apologize. I know where you were coming from, I feel the same way anytime someone in Blockbuster tells me they "shut the movie off after 15 minutes" and it's something great like City of God. Or how they hate the "little black bars" (referring to widescreen), subtitles, etc. What pissed me off was the whole cinephile rant.
But fine, I'll disregard it. I still like it when people get angry in an argument/discussion. More fun than trying to not step on people's toes.
PS> for the record, I do NOT think Children of Men is the best movie of the past 5 years. Not by a longshot.
