I am a screenwriter in school for screenwriting. I have written several scripts that I would like to see filmed. I however have very little interest outside of writing the movie and then seeing the final product. I feel that to leave them would be an injustice so I am offering them to anyone who would like one. The cost would be in screen credit, "Written by Patrick Paddock" and a copy of the film once completed would be all I would require. Also, if there is a filmmaker in Chicago or the surounding area who would like to strike an exclusive relationship with my work I would be interested in that as well. I look foreward to seeing my works filmed.

You may want to re-think your attitude toward production. If you never produce, you can't write a feasible screenplay because you don't know what is easy, what is hard and what is impossible. I like to work with writers who have some production background. Also, re-writes are a necessary part of the process you you'll have to at least be involved with that.

That being said, send me your screenplays (dd57058@appstate.edu) and I'll see if I can't point out production weaknesses or, perhaps, pick them up.

I wouldn't think you'd need any production experience. If the director has a problem with not being able to do something in the screenplay, he should either find a creative way to make it work, or just have the part rewrote (either by the screenwriter or himself). And if the whole thing needs rewrtoe then why the hell'd he want to do it in the first place?

Is it helpful for a screenwriter to have a little production experience? Sure! But I don't see any rules anywhere that says he should have to.

Not every filmmaker is a writer. And not every writer is a filmmaker.
