I've seen alot of posters here looking and offering help in the New Jersey area. Now I was thinking, why don't we all just meet up one place? We could meet and talk about movies and film and maybe even work together and make a huge film. We could pick a place that is in driving range or the most convienent place for all of us to meet.
This would be pretty cool to have a bunch of studentfilm makers together to talk film. I think this would be very cool. If anyone would like to talk about this idea or anything email me at shadowless_films@hotmail.com
Thanks

i'd be down for it but I would hope there would be a better age range showing up. I mean, I would like to network with some younger filmmakers out there, I am 19, and the parts I need to cast are younger.
I'm 18 years old (Just saying that because i think everyone interested should state their age)... even if we don't have a project in mind we should just meet to try and come up with one... lets introduce ourselves and exchange contact..
good idea

why not start a website or a message board for all NJ area moviemakers. That way we can help each other out with borrowing equipment and casting and locations.

Ok, seems like we have had a few replies here. Now what would be the best time for all of us to get online and set up an online chat? I'm open during the week and weekends but I think the chat could be done during the week. I'm open Sunday night, Monday before 5pm and after 9pm, Tuesday after 3pm and Thursday after 6pm.
How about everyone else?
What does Studentfilms.com mean to you?

You people make me sick! Ha! I'm so envious! I don't think there's any "student filmmakers in alabama - other than the people I know... and they are all talk, no action - if you know what I mean. You guys should to a movie call NJC: The New Jersey Chronicles: Half Past Dope and a Quarter in 'da Slut Machine. heh sorry just rambling... man that's great that so many people from one area settle on this site..
P.S Yeah I live in Tuscaloosa! Where all the Alabama student filmmakers at? Hook it up!
I don't use AIM other than for the occational file transfer, but you guys can feel free to drop me a line if you're looking for help or advice on any special effects and/or compositing. (3D CGI & bluescreen/greenscreen work)
A lot of my work has been on my own pet project (a Star Wars fan film ), but now that I'm confident with what I can do, I'm looking for more variety to work on to help expand my portfolio.
