Note: This is a duplicate post from the "Pre-Production" thread. I didn't see the classifieds at first.

First of all, I want to say that this is a great web site! It's encouraging to know there is a community of filmmakers willing to help each other out in this way.

I'll cut to the chase. Here's my situation.

I am currently in Virginia Beach, VA but I grew up in NYC. And the limited amount of film contacts I have are all people in VA. I just shot a 10min short in NYC back in February this year. Although I had two line-producers working with me, becuase of my familiarity and shooting deadlines, I found myself doing much of their work.

It was stressful to say the least, writing, directing and producing, and etc.

I am currently working on a story and plan to shoot late summer, again in NYC. It will either be a 30min short or a feature length. At this point, I have two possible executive producers interested in financing the film. However, the financing is still not secure at the moment.

If the financing falls through, I am planning to shoot on DV with or without a budget.

I am looking for any like-minded filmmakers in NYC, particulary producers/writers for now, wishing to collaborate.

The story is about a korean immigrant family in NYC, who find themselves in danger of deportation as a result of an unpaid debt. The situation provides the platform for Jae (lead protagonist) to taste life in extreme dosage. The film will explore the issues of discovering manhood in the absence of a father figure. It is a dramatic/modern-noir piece.

I am hoping to return to NYC at the end of next summer. Until then, I would like to get better acquainted with the film community in NYC. So whether you are interested in working on this film, or just want to network, please drop me a line at: cfcp@verizon.net.

thanks for reading,

Mark 1

I got rid of that other topic in Pre-Pro. We discourage duplicate posting, and I know that you didn't mean any harm by it, so don't worry about it. Just try not to do it next time! Smile
