I'm announcing the launch of Crewster.com - a friend networking site for working crews from the film, television and commercial industries. And the best part is that it's TOTALLY FREE!

The thing that makes Crewster different is that it's based on Recommendations, not just who you know. You recommend the people that you know to be good, and your friends do the same.

And the people who are hiring don't need to be members of Crewster to find you. The entire site is freely browsable for everyone, regardless of membership. People can come and search through our users, check out the Job Boards and read what people have to say.

By joining Crewster you get your own personal page that lists all your professional information including union affiliations, who you recommend, who recommends you, your picture, a copy of your resume, links to your IMDb listing (or other websites), contact information, a link to your AIM account -- and much more. You can put together a list of your friends on Crewster and use it as a base for communicating with all your co-workers.
