I don't know if any of you are big "Family Guy" fans, but "Frank's Wild Years" is SOOOOO similar to the experimental film that Diane the Newscaster did in the edpisode "The King is Dead." I can't remember the name of the film on the show, so if anyone can help me out on that...
Did my film get ripped off? Let me know if you find anything further.

Dont be so quick to laugh. Some friends of mine made a feature that was VERY funny, and original. 6 months after its web release, "South Park" made a storyline that matched it exactly. (with Cartman eating Kenny's ashes, and being possesed by Kenny) We kind of didnt believe it, but every episode it was more and more alike. The end result... nothing. They didnt bother trying to sue becuse you have to prove they cost you money, not that they simply stole your idea. If they were about to be fincanced by a big studio, and lost it due to the show then they might have had a shot. Stuff on the web is, well... out there. Anyone can stumble across it. Try getting one of those programs that tells you where site visitors come from. My friends site has recieved several hits from someone in the White House. Strange but true. You just never know whos watching. R. M.

Not everybody who posts on this site is some nobody who's stuff hasn't been around. Not everybody here is a student film-maker anymore. Maybe I don't make anything financialy as a film-maker, but I've been invited many places to show my work (paintings and films) and its been around. To Tizzy- Thanks for the advice. I'm not sue-happy, just curious..
You could be talking to someone like Jim Jarmusch right now on this site, using another name. You don't actually know who I or anyone else here is...
I've seen that Family Guy episode, and it isn't so much similar in content, but style. The film in Family Guy is more of a parody of Art-House student films (I'm not saying your film is though). I think Cyos was more likely taking a swipe at your film Richards; I saw your film and have to say I didn't quite understand it, but I would be interested in learning more about it. I think if you could post a little more about your film, that'd be cool.

Franks Wild Years was a combination of a nightmare I had, and a swipe at "arty" student films. Its about a guy Frank, his dead naked girlfriend, and his gaseous old lady neighbor all stuck in this ridiculous situation. Can't say more, don't want to get overanalytical.

I wasn't taking a swipe at it as much as I was pointing out that Family Guy was taking a swipe at it.
In the film on family guy, Diane is randomly changing positions in a kitchen wearing only a bra and panties. Each position holds for a few seconds before fading to black. Then a guy randomly licks her on the face and a clown flips pancakes in a skillet. IT's all in B & W and it's just a little TOO similar in form (not content).
And I meant no disrespect to your film. Sure, it's a little weird, but without weird, there would be no Lynch. And that would be a bad thing.
