2006 Boston 48 Hour Film Competition April 07-09 weekend, I'm NOMO Team Casting and Dramatic Director.
This is a fully pro team, left coast Exec Producer, local Boston Producer, whole lotta Directors including Noah Lydiard of Lunchpail Productions as Creative Director, full editing team.
Non-paid gig, it's a competition.
But we're really using this shoot as a team-building warm-up for a 2006 October Sundance entry. Most competitors around the country tend not to take the 48 hour competition too seriously.
However, last year I was the only one here with SAG actors, Ford models, New England's mostadmired firedancer in full-body-paint red devil persona, professional bellydancer in the Mythic Dance Chorus, child actress whom I personally wrangled, hot Polish director specializing in micro-features with astounding color in her portfolio before she came on board. And Noah's work was a sensitive, naturalistic foreign language film dialogued entirely in Russian.
My last year's composer, chosen over graduated pros, was a Berklee prodigy full of props from out of town directors on the composer's site before chosen by me; now the composer is in Hollywood assisting the composer of both The West Wing and Law & Order
You interested? Got what it takes?
Pro or ready is OK, I audition everyone, first with concentrated 3-5 min phone audition
following my e-mailing an audition kit to you for your specialty, then in person.
Must not expect to sleep from 6P Friday to 10P Sunday.
