I heard this guy who was heavily involved in sound direction and editing for LOTR (Lord of the Rings) was here in Cebu training the students at theInternational Academy of Film & Television. Don’t know if he's still there though..

I am considering writing a detailed, in-depth article about sound capturing, editing and mastering for film, however you should know from the start that it will require a sound investment in some good quality audio equipment. If you have at least $500-1000 to invest in some easy-to-find audio products, you can be on your way to some really good sound.
