After reading a few more reviews, it appears my teaser trailer (The Third Warrior) truly has not done its job and that I need to clarify many things. Here are the major ones:
-"The Third Warrior" is totally human. There are no elves, dwarves, or ANYTHING from Middle-earth or the like. It is a period film, but not a fantasy. No magic here.
-Yes, we are on the extreme low budget side.
-The trailer is a teaser. You're supposed to go away a little confused, and you're not really supposed to get the story.
-This is not a story of a "princess in distress", and it has very little in common with "Lord of the Rings".
-All but three of the cast are in high school. As corny as it is, the young age of the entire cast is explained in the film. Go ahead...laugh!
I do appreciate the reviews, since I now have a completely different view of my own work. But it's frustrating when people don't know what they're talking about.

first, you already have a post like this. second, you dont have to defend your trailor against every single bad review it gets, if you think you did a great job and worked hard, then you did, so stop it.

First, I edited my previous post like this because I felt it was too heated. Second, I don't want people to assume I have elves and the like in my film, and I have every right to make that known. I'm sorry if it bothers you.

Im the only person who has replied to either of your posts, you dont need to clarify anything because a lot of people dont care. its just a trailor, maybe when you send in the whole thing, then you can. people are entitled to thier opinion, let them think whatever they want to, even if its wrong.

LOL. That does sound pretty cheap, but at least you have an explanation. Nothing is worse than a 15 year old cast as the King of some fantasy world. What's your reason, they were born with magical powers?
It appears my clarifications still haven't hit some people. The Third Warrior is not a fantasy. There are no kings, no magic. And what am I supposed to do? Get a bunch of college kids to take school off for three months?

I don't really understand your last statement, but regarding the first: swords and warriors generally = fantasy, unless it is posing a "realistic" medieval piece (King Arthur, Excalibur, etc.). What is it? With "Warrior" in the title it doesn't exactly sound like a romance or comedy.
Sorry, I wasn't making very much sense! I meant college kids, but that's okay.
As to the first, yes. I didn't really think about what people might think this film was about, and it seems that fantasy would be an obvious assumption since it has all the elements. However, we aimed for more of a "King Arthur" type of movie. In the end our film changed from the focus being on battle sequences and the 'epic' factor to relationships, and even some 'romance'. But it isn't happy romance...it's kind of heartbreaking romance. Hope that helped!
In the final trailer you'll get a glimpse of what the film is really like, since the teaser was made in September when we still had a ways to go on principal photography. Most of the good stuff for our film was filmed in the latter half, so the final trailer should be much improved. Especially with all of the reviews I'm getting on my teaser trailer. They're actually helping, I just need some more!

Listen, sometimes it doesn't go over well if you try and defend your film. Take me for example. What's done is done. You sent it, it should require no explination. (Unless of course the audio unsyncs after post production, it is still a mystery)

I'm just talking about my trailer. There's nothing wrong with that, is there? I have a lot to say. After all, I have been working on this film for a long time.
