I have written about this before and I cannot stand it when people write reviews like this one:

"Garbage. No other words can describe what a cheap, worthless "Reservoir Dogs" knock-off this movie is. I'm ashamed to even call it a "movie". If you guys can't come up with something even remotely original, don't bother making a movie."

- Adam Scherer
acumenprod@aol.com

now, how does this help me? it doesn't? what did work in the film? was it mentioned or am is the word "garbage" suppose to have some hidden meaning?
from this review, what i get, is that i basically threw away all my time and effort to put a "movie"(which this reviewer, Adam Scherer, says it does not classify as one) on this site for other people's enjoyment. Now, do i really want to share my time and work with people like this, who do not help me make better movies and love to give out cheap shots at my work. NO! from his point of view(very narrow) it seems that my film, an early one of mine, has no business being on this site, and instead belongs with all the putrid waste that resides in the garbage can.

now, do not get me wrong, Adam's words are the only things that belong in the garbage and this review does not make me stop from making films that i love to make and share with reasonable people, but people, please, have some consideration, use your brain! this kind of review does not help me at all in making future films, especially for this site.

be critical, not stupid & ignorant.

I recently submited a film on this site called "Small Town Politics". I will be the first to admit that there are A LOT of problems with this video. It was my first crack at a narritive and I probably got in over my head with a half hour script. You guys can watch it and judge it for yourself. The acting was awful, in fact I didn't want to be in the movie, but as you all know it's hard to find actors. the script was fairly weak and the shooting schedule was so speard out that there were continuity problems everywhere, which made editing extremely difficult. Well anyway, I recived one star in every catagory from a guy named T (note the fact he did not leave his full name) with the comment "why does everything have to be about guns?" First off, not everything is. Maybe you should watch my other film on this site, it's about cross country. Come on, aren't we all entitled to one gun film, if it teaches us something about production?!?!?

Just dumb people who never touched a camera and think Final Cut Pro is a new kitchen product. Young juveniles probably can't cut the grades to make it into college wannabes.

They like to put you down and treat you like a dog because they didn't like your movie, and it makes their ignorant egos feel a bit bigger.

Don't worry about it, it's the nature of the beast. I told you before that you need to toughen up. No matter what level you are, you will constantly get ripped on (((So Get used to it))). It's not gonna be something that ever stops happening. Not everyone is gonna like your films (even when and if they are good), in fact some will hate it with a passion. But non film makers have a right to their opinion too. Just as the people that don't know the first thing about all the gear I use to create music still have the right to no like what I do.... that's life kid!

*Five years from know you wont cares so much, you'll be used to it by then......

Wow, I find it funny seeing this post, because Adam Scherer is one of my best friends. Actually he is in both of my movies that are on this site right now. He's a short Italian who loves David Lynch. He's a critical guy all around so don't take it too hard on yourself. He bashes himself more than anything. Well, I would say that I feel sorry for you, but my movies have criticisms of a similar nature and I'm not *****ing. I kind of agree with my reviews. And I also happen to know what movie you are talking about, because I posted a review too. You are the guy that made "Heist". Maybe the "garbage" thing was a little much, but please, that movie was so much of a Reservior Dogs rip-off it made me gag. The dialogue was like Roger Avery attempting to be Tarantino and the acting was a joke. Now I'm not going to say all this and not leave my name. I'm Chandler Mays. My two movies are Execution and Slayer. Alot of the things I just said about your movie can be applied to mine. Don't *****, just accept the fact you made a ****ty movie. If it makes you feel better, you can go to my movies and give a bad reviews and make fun of Adam Scherer. I don't give a ****. Just be honest.

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE: IF YOU ARE GOING TO PUT FILMS ON THIS SITE AND THEY ARE BAD, DON'T POUT WHEN SOMEONE HATES IT.

My films have flaws and I accept it and learn from it. I have plenty of reviews that criticize but don't critique. Just take it in the ass and move on to better work.

That's my two cents.

Matrix Reloaded is gonna rule my ass.
Kill Bill is gonna rule my ass.
Return of the King is gonna rule my ass.

Chandler Mays

ps - If you see a movie called "Heist" or "Execution" or "Slayer" and you see "action" or "thriller" as the genre, DON'T get angry when there's alot of violence. What the hell did you expect?

Thanks man. Those guns were all air-soft guns. The only way you know those guns aren't real is that they are lighter than real guns. Air-soft rocks the f**kin house.
