I hate anonymous reviews!!! I just got one for my film and I can't stand it. Why can't people put their name???

yeah - its lame to be anonymous on reviews. its like they're saying they can't stand up for their own review. it wasn't exactly a bashing review or anything though. just written by someone who didn't pass kindergarten english Big Grin

I plan to have in the future a build of the site that requires users to be logged in to write a review - thus eliminating anonymous reviews.

Of course this is in the future, but it is in the works.

I review anonymously so that I'm not constantly attacked on this forum. In my case, the two are better left disconnected.

I do want to say, though, that I have a film on this website that has its share of anonymous reviews, and it really doesn't bother me all that much. As long as it's legit feedback, I don't need to know who the person is. It can be helpful and/or convenient to know who it is, but generally, I don't think it matters.

Besides, what you really should be concerned with is the content of the review. Not who wrote it.

JW, do you use an alias? or is it obviously a fake name? cause an alias i wouldn't mind (or know aboutBig Grin)), but an obviously fake name makes me sort of discredit the review in my mind.

I agree with JW. Annonimity is very important. However it has to be balanced with accountablility.

A good review is a justified review.

I believe unjustified reviewing should end up with the reviewer facing public scroutiny. But a justified review bagging a film is all good, because the filmmaker can learn.

But we dont want no psycho filmmakers after somebody has writen a good review bagging their film, so annonimity should stay, but having to be logged on to review, even if it is annonimously(mi spallung sax atm) means if someone writes a dodgy review they can be held accountable. By chris or the moderators.

I hope this makes sense
