I'm sure this has been brought up beofre, but have you ever considered annual studentfilms.com awards? That'd be fun. We'd vote on the best films of the year, and like with THE ROAD contest, you can put the winners on a DVD, sell it, and make a clean mint.

um, that sounds like everything that's wrong with the oscars and globes and ****. seems like the whole point is not about what is good or bad, but how much money can be made by simply declaring a winner. like how the globes are moving to monday so they dont have a ratings war with desperate housewives. u would think the awards should be about artistic merit, not neilsen ratings. if it werent for the televised broadcast there would be no golden globes or academy awards, its just a whole sham. i personally would not want to see sf.com turn into something like that.

yes, i agree that contests are good, (sorry if i kinda flamed the idea u had unfairly colin) and the "road" dvd being sold seperately i know kinda came after the fact, when chris found there was interest for it. and yeah, the contest was cool, hopefully thre will be more interest and participation in the future, and maybe the second go around ppl will have more incentive to get something in.

Yea, while 17 is alot, that's not as many as it should've had. I personally didn't submit one because I was having technical problems with my camera, or I would have. But I definatly will submit something for the next contest, whatever that may be.
