HI. ITS JEFF KAPLAN AGAIN. I REALIZED THAT MAYBE I SHOULD EXPLAIN MY FILMS JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE. SEE I AM IN A HIGHSCHOOL FILM CLASS. ALL THE FILMS WE DO IN THE CLASS HAVE, AT MOST, A TWO WEEK DEADLINE. ON TOP OF THE FILM DEADLINES, (WHICH I PUT FRIST IN MY PLANS), I HAVE SCHOOLWORK DEADLINES AND I WORK AT A PIZZA PLACE. NOW I ALSO THOUGHT I WOULD REMIND YOU THAT MY ENTIRE CREW IS ALSO IN SCHOOL AND ALSO HAVE JOBS. MY CREW USSUALLY CARES MORE ABOUT THEIR SCHOOLWORK AAND JOBS BECAUSE FILM MAY NOT BE THEIR MAIN FOCUS, WHICH I CANT BLAME ANYONE FOR DOING. SO WITH ALL THAT SAID, ITS HARD TO MAKE A SHOOTING SCHEDULE. SO, FROM MY MOUTH, "MY FILMS ARE RUSHED." IN THOSE TWO WEEKS WE HAVE-TO MAKE A FILM, WE HAVE TO: CREATE A STORY, MAKE A SHOOTING SCHEDULE, MAKE SOME SORT OF A SCRIPT, COMPILE ACTORS (USUALLY JUST FILMMAKERS IN OUR CLASS, NOT ACTUAL ACTORS), DECIDE HOW IT WILL ALL BE SHOT, FILM IT, AND EDIT IT....ALL IN TWO WEEKS. ABOUT 95% OF THE DIALOGUE IN OUR FILMS IS IMPROV. NOW IM NOT LOOKING FOR SOB POINTS OR WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT, I JUST THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW MY FILMS ARE OPPERATED. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS AND I HOPE YOU CAN TAKE SOME TIME OUT OF YOUR DAY, KICK BACK, RELAX, GRAB SOME POPCORN, AND FEEL FREE TO VIEW MY FILMS ONM THE SITE FREE OF COST!!!!! AND IF YOU FEEL THE NEED (PLEASE FEEL THE NEED) REVIEW SOME OF MY FILMS. THE ONLY WAY I CAN BETTER MYSELF AS A FILMMAKER IS CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM (PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I DID GOOD AS WELL!) THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. P.S. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF ANY INTERNSHIPS, OR FILMS THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO HELP OUT WITH PLEASE LET ME KNOW. TRAVEL IS NOT AN ISSUE (NORMALLY.)
I understand your situation, but i'm assuming that most of the people that enter films to the site don't enter films from video class, but enter films that they made on their own time. In other words, you should try making a movie outside of your class; take more time with each process, set your own deadlines, and you'll get better results, not to mention better reviews from the sf community
hmmmm... I have done a 30 minute movie while working two jobs and taking 18 college credits. It's never easy, so most weekends are your way out. Wouldn't it be great to just focus and make a film on your own with independent funding? So yhy not try it? If that doesn't work, you can go about keeping travel low and shooting on one or two locations. This way you can focus and direct better pictures. Artists never surrender to limitations. Keep up the movie making.

its jeff again- sorry about the caps lock...im not at all bothered by the reviews because i love constuctive criticism becauser it helps me look at my films from other peoples perspective. i would love to take tons of time and spend it on a film but right now i dont have he time. i posted this on the site just to get people to watch my films and see what i can do with that little time. i wish i had more time because i think i can make much better films. next year ill have the time because i will be done with school and i will be living in atlanta just making money and making films. anybody need help next year just let me know i would love to help.
You probably have more time to spend on your projects now than you would if it were a paid production, with investors requiring results. Quality isn't judged on a sliding scale, you know?
