Perhaps there should be a non applicable choice for the different categorys of the review system. Allow me to explain: If a film uses all stock footage, why would the film maker be evaluated for cinematography? Also, if there is a complete lack of narrative in the film, why would you rate the screenplay? It would be just like trying to rate Jackson Pollack's paintings for their realism!

Or even acting. Not all the films have "actors" such as some experimentals or animations.

I agree. There's one more thing that troubles me.

When I check the Top Ten list, every movie is on there because they have had 1 vote for 5 stars. This means that their average number of stars is 5, and they make it onto the top ten. I don't care AT ALL about the whole stars thing, but I feel that the greater films on this site should be recognized. Maybe in order to make it onto the top ten, you have to have at least a certain number of reviews. That way, the crappy movies that only one person decided to critique could be replaced with the best out there. Roll Eyes

I agree. Put a minimum review limit on it.

I think that problem with the top ten list just has to be worked out over time. It's still new so you gotta give it time for more reviews to be added to even it out. But also I think a minimun number of reviews to make the top ten list would be nice.

There already was a heated debate over this when the top ten list came out again after the site re-design. Many people argued in favor of a minimum (myself included for a 5 review minimum). Chris hears our cries (I hope) and hopefully will be dealing with it soon enough.
