I'm bored, so let's name some student films on here that have moments of pure exhilaration, pure movie making joy. It doesn't have to be the best movie on the site, it doesnt' even have to be a good movie for that matter. All it has to have is a moment during its running time where everything works for a brief moment: the music, story, and lighting, to provoke a huge smile on your face and goosebumps on your arms because of how cool it is.

My vote: Toast Dusters - Braveheart style battle charge.

I'll share more later.

We can't stop here, it's bat country!

The flame out in "SV2K:Senior Video 2000".

"for others, these were the times that tried their souls"

Hands down the best trailer parody i have ever seen. brilliant - by the time the flames at the end rolled around i had pissed my pants laughing, changed into new pants, and pissed those as well.

"yesterday i got so old i thought that i would die"

This isn't a film on this site....but any part of "George Lucas In Love" fits into this category.

no one will probably agree with me, but the first minutes in sky's "the two heads of burnt norton" were amazing.

Well, one of my films (which shall remain nameless) that used to be on this site made people go "HOLY C%@P!", but that's mostly because it was. :-)

The introduction BLEW MY MIND! I LOVED IT! It's a shame the film fell off of a cliff as soon as the 1st title was shown... It almost led me to believe that the filmmaker/s ripped off the intro or used stock footage. Red Face

heh heh, that studentfilm got me too.

i ferget what it's called - i think that filmmaker is based in chicago.

and hey matt, you might wanna check this thread out, i don't think sky used found footage in that project. he intentionally made it look worse as the film progressed starting with 35mm and ending up with 8mm.

Yeah, CHRISTMAS MORNING is the title I believe. The ending was kinda shocking, I predicted half way the partner would be dead, but I didn't think it'd just be a head........therfor it would've been smarter if the film were shorter...MUCH shorter.
