Yeah never mind...this thing is too much trouble. But thanks for the composer's viewpoint...it has given me a new perspective on the topic of "pirated music"...and since I want to get into the teacher profession it's always nice to have those perspectives to pass on..although I have to admit, I am a user of kazaa.
My reason being as everyone knows...CD are way over priced when artist get mad, "usually" it is that same artist who owns the Lable or has a partnership within that company, the artist who are signed usually only get about 2 dollars per CD sale anyways...at least that's what I've noticed and my music teacher told us last year...LOL..but this is way off topic.
If any one ever figures out how to make this DVD then let me know...THE IDEA OF RE-DOING ALL THE MUSIC WOULD TAKE FOR EVER AND THE AFFECT OF THE MUSIC WOULD BE LOST IF NEW SONGS WERE ADDED, plus the royalties would cost me on my movie "choice" along about 50,000 dollars....and all that just to give it out for free to about 40 people...no thanks. So "no" I don't wish to help produce a DVD that way...its in who ever' hands now if they still want it.

Well lets say your stupid little movie Choice got discovered (God Forbid) and was the best thing to come from a studentfilmmaker.....you'd be either screwed or have to re do the film with ORIGINAL music.
I think you, or anyone else, would want that film to be distributed somehow....so WOULD find a composer willing to do a new score for your film.
Can't be that hard.

Couldn't we just have special films made for the DVD.
Everyone makes a movie with original music. We all vote on the best ones for over 30 days. (Moderators would have to watch that people didn't vote twice). Then the best of the best get thrown on the DVD.
That would give people with the best chance for exposure, and that would attract more attention to Studentfilms.com
What do'ya think?
Film Director is not a name, It's a lifestyle.

I think that may be a good idea...of course Chris has to okay it first. Someone should write him an e-mail.
Kyle..man honestly I thought you had grown past that. Why do you have to be so rude man. Everyone else was expressing their opinions in an âadultâ conversation on this topic. We were all talking in an âintellectual wayâ ...you always come to the boards with some sort of self esteem issue and vent on the rest of the board, leave it in high school. I know youâre only a 16 year old but try not to forget the rest of donât want that high school drama Iâm not so much writing this because Iâm mad but because Iâm concerned as to whatâs wrong with you or your personal life to make you act that way. No more on that but damn.

The DVD idea is not totally out of the question yet.
My view is that as long as the music is cleared (which may not even be a huge issue....many of the films I've seen on this site have original or royalty-free music) and we can find a way to mass-produce the discs and whatnot, it could happen.
I think it's an excellent promotional idea, too. It could be great marketing and could raise awareness (and funds) for the site.
