The deal is; I got accepted to the film school I really wanted to go to, but, now I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find money to go, and I can't get any help from my parents. I've applied for government loans but it wasn't enought money and I'm still a ways away from the amount I need. So if any of you college students wouldn't mind, just how did you afford where you're going, (any scholarships that are available to art majors etc..)
I would really appreciate any suggestions

Can anybody say "rich uncle"?

Sorry, I can't help, I haven't reached this stage in life yet, but other people should answer so I can know ahead of time. Which college did you get accepted to, anyways?

Congratulations on getting into the school. The financial end sucks, I know. Way back in the day, I (or my parents) couldn't afford college either, and I had to wait until I was like 30 to go.

If you've exhausted all loan possibilities, try this link:

http://www.grants.gov/

You'll see a menu for all grants by the Fed Gov and a link for Education. Hopefully there is something in there for you, though I'm guessing that some have been awarded for this year.

It will be very hard, but you may need to find a part-time job to help with the schooling costs. Maybe the school itself has a job you can work to help offset tuition.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah, have you spoken to the school about applying for loans through them? And, have you contacted their financial aide office for suggestions on avenues you might pursue. It sucks, but you may just have to bite the bullet and get loans.

Sell your body to scienece. Robert Rodriguez went to an institute for a month and got 3 grand. Free food and boarding. You can write scripts and watch movies all day during that time as well. Granted you shouldn't have a fear of needles and taking craps in buckets, but other than that it shouldn't be so bad.

That's a really good idea....I'm gonna do that if I have to.

But what if you get all deformed and then 20 years later while making the biggest production of your life, you suddenly drop dead? That would suck... Red Face Eek Red Face Eek
