oh my god.

Nicholas Gurewitch, who draws The Perry Bible Fellowship, made the short film adaptation you are taking about.

i'm pretty sure the film reviews say it's a comic strip.

anyway, who cares if it got it's idea from a comic book? it's FILM you're supposed to care about the visual moving quality, the editing, the sound, the shots.

is robert rodriguez a charlatan thief because he's adapting Sin City?

Gurewitch adapts HIS OWN comics into short films.

the title "Ken's new specs" was stolen does sort of imply that something of a rather wrong nature has occurred Big Grin

but, wow, interesting!

Well ok maybe it wasn't hilarious but Gurewitch just got accused with passionate ferver ("ken's new specs was stolen!") of stealing from himself. Plus it just moved to top spot of the most viewed, That's pretty funny.

Anyway I just want to add that Ken's New Spec's is friggen outstanding so if this mess gets more people to see it then so be it!

P.S. I just re-read this post and did I say "passionate ferver" my god I did didn't I. Ok I'm banning myself from posting for a week.

so you don't like Bladerunner, The Godfather, Spider-man?

Because they all changed from the book quite a bit.

Before the 20th century, the most common way of being an artist or a musician was to copy other people's music and play it yourself, or to copy/reinterpret other people's paintings.

A lot of famous paintings from the 20th century are copies of older paintings reworked.

The older you get, the more you'll realize that whoever it is you think is being very original today is just doing the same thing people were oding years ago. Read more books, look at more art, listen to more music, and you'll see it's all a copy.

not to mention a clockwork orange and fight club were both changed differently from the books.

clockwork has a whole last chapter that does not exist in the film...

i wish it did though, its a great chapter!
