Greetings to all,

I just registered today. I sent my film here last week so hopefully it'll be on this website soon enough. It's called "Po Mo To Hu" if anyone is interested. Basically it's a parody of Post Modern Black and White films. I got the idea from a short called Po Mo Knock Knock and thought it was terrific. My friend Eric and I had been tinkering with the idea of doing the life of a plunger and it sort of evolved into a post modern interpretation of toilet humor. Anyway, I've checked out some films on this site and many are quite good. I hate scathing reviews of others work cause it's supposed to be constructive. Lord knows I've had my share of harsh criticism. I realize that whether or not you get really bad criticism or praise, the point is that your film is out there to be viewed and discussed. I hope to make some friends here on studentfilms.com and feel free to reply to this with a link to your work. I'll be happy to watch it. Take Care and good luck to all of you.

Brian

Welcome Brian! Smile

Doesn't it seem like we're getting several new members per day? This is awesome!

I did notice that several other members joined yesterday. Tres Cool. How long will it take for my film to be uploaded onto the site? Thanks in advance.

I THINK it takes about three weeks. But I'm not sure, because I still haven't gotten around to sending mine in Roll Eyes

One thing,

I just took a look at the CD that you sent with your film and I noticed that it is a Sorenson 3 file at 320x240. This is NOT an acceptable submission format.

I can use it - but the quality of the film on Studentfilms.com will suffer.

Please read the submission FAQ. The CORRECT way to submit via CD-ROM or DVD-ROM is by making a Quicktime at 720x480 using the DV/DVCPRO codec.

An AVI file using the DV codec on a PC will also work. But the key is using the DV codec. The quality of your film on the site will be MUCH better.

Please read the submission FAQ.

Hey man, welcome to the site. Since your looking for films to watch and critique, you can watch my first film if you'd like:The Adventures of Vinny and Rob

I look forward to seeing your work.

Hello Chris,

I just got the email and I made a brand new copy on a dv tape. AVI format with the DV codec and its got a minute of preroll. I'll be sending this out today as soon as possible. Thank you for getting back to me. The fool that I am read the requirements too late after I sent the movie out. But please don't post this film until you receive the tape. Much obliged.

Brian
