Due to some recent responses to my movie Christmas Morning, I have been forced to ask myself if the raging homophobia represented is the rule or the exception in regards to this site's community. I'm sincerely hoping for the latter...
I would hope that it is the exception and not the rule as well. In fact some of the reviews that I have been receiving recently (not necessarily for this film) have been in my mind inappropriate and have not been posted.
I thought that it was a good film. Disturbing. But good.
I've removed the offensive reviews that snuck their way through.
I apologize for not noticing them in the first place.
I'm looking forward to hosting more films from you on the site.
Best Regards, Chris Wright Studentfilms.com

"Christmas morning" was a great short. I would say that I can't believe people choose to send hate pointed messages, but I'm not surprised at all. I think that's why it's even more important to flood the film world with more controversial topics, because it makes people think.
Even if they don't like it, even if they think it's crap or against their believes, they still took the time to watch and because of that they will stop to think in the future and if it's done well enough and even if the person won't admit it...maybe you can change people's perspectives.
I know right now that people are going to have a hay day reviewing my first flick, and most especially the four film I'm sending, but I'm ready for the criticism...and I hope some of the negative or offensive reviews do come through to me...cuz if they do, I'll know I challenged someone's opinion, and enough so, that they felt the need to write about it.

Seeing someone criticize your film because of a gay character is just as bad as someone criticizing my film because of a Black character. Homophobia is just as horrible as racism and the homophobe who reviewed your film should not be able to write reviews any more. i am Drew Witte, Director of Blackfoot,Idaho and I feel that "Christmas Morning" is one of the best films on the site. It is creepy and suspenseful and the actor did a great job at making this movie work. The fact that some ignorant fool gave your movie a turkey just because he is an ignorant fool is terrible. i am not gay but when I read that review last night I was disturbed that there are people like that on this site.

Don't let stupid people's reviews get to you. Good luck in the future.
