hey... my little film is now up and has a few reviews... thanks very much for the comments. One guy asked for an explanation though..so i thought i would add it here..

well... the film was our graduation piece and we wanted to play around with what we had learnt and try to merge different styles...its pretty much just jason and I that made it, and then we asked Nathan to do a Danse Macabre style music, which we then adapted a little to get the timings right...his music does rule.

it starts with a guy whose brother has killed himself... so he decides to use a ouija board to ask why... but the stuffed birds and the doll represent a force, perhaps good an evil...originally the doll was supposed be kinda possessed by a friendly house hold spirit that wakes and knocks the ouija table over to save the guy...perhaps it still does... but using the ouija board opens up a doorway into the birds (whole symbolism thing with birds and souls etc) which is the spiritual world... but he is not welcome there and is sent back...by which time the ouija table is knocked over and the doorway is closed, leaving the guy trapped in the bird...its ambiguous as to whether the doll did it on purpose..or if the attempt to save the guy just failed.

its all about boundaries, between black and white and colour, live footage and animated, spiritual and physical. And it was really just for fun...although we did get a pretty good mark too.
We did use some cliches too...we were aware of it...sometimes we wanted to, other times we couldnt think of an alternative.

anyway...my broadband pack arrived today..says it may take 10 days to go live...but when it does i shall be able to look at other films on the site too.

thanks again to all.
