I must of missed something on the whole Jeff Ray thing. Why does everyone seem suddenly compelled to bash the guy that wore a 7 1/2 baseball cap at age 10?
No one said you have to like his movies (I personally am not a big fan of some of the stuff he's made, but I don't bash them, I don't think I've bashed any one's film on this site. Well, without offering advice to make it better).

I don't think anyone's intention was to hurt Jeff Ray here, but I just think there's something very incendiary about Jeff Ray's work that gets everyone all fired up from a chain reaction of sorts on occasion. A very rare quality for any filmmaker these days, and it further proves that Jeff Ray is no fly-by-night filmmaker. I think this also applies to Matt Gilbert as well (remember the heated discussions about Walk Among Us?). But I am rather disturbed by the fact that the old Jeff Ray topic got so out-of-control that Josh actually had to shut down the topic, something I don't think has happened in a while. I think we all should take a good look at ourselves on these boards and remind ourselves why we're even on these boards to begin with, and the answer is not "to insult and bicker".

Dan, you hit the nail on the head. The coffin nail. Jeff Ray is an incendiary filmmaker. As is Matt Gilbert, although I don't remember the heated Walk Among Us discussions all that clearly. Both are good at inciting emotion in, well, for lack of a better term, ...all of us.
