Wow, once that heavy music kicked in (what band/song was that by the way?) I was hooked. This looks really well done, love the martial arts aspect you have in it as well, nice touch. Like Kyle said , voice over was kinda crappy, also some of your cuts could have been a bit sharper in my opinion, but its just my thoughts so don't sweat it. Anyways, when do we get to see the final release?

Well let me answer some of the questions. First of thanks for all the kind words about the trailer. We have found (through bbs like these) the V/O is not working for this trailer. I think we will chop it. The music used is "Kitchen Knife Conspiracy" My whole film is laced whith their music. You can hear more from them at Kitchen Knife Conspiracy We have a couple of national offers so you should see it on the shelves first of the year.

Ill could dismiss this comment ten times over, but I will simply lob to the most recent... Check out the trailer for "The Lost Soldiers" which is on this site. Or, trailor if you preffer (although considering how many typos, and misspellings I make I think I just threw a rock through my glass house.)
Ok, I watched the trailer, and my thoughts. Makeup was pretty good. Im not a big fan of the ultra green zombie, but the rotting flesh, and texture made up for it. The music was god, V/O bad. The only thing I would really have to say is that most of the shots framing (aka: composition) seemed un inspired, or maybe just novice. You would be greatly served to learn the basics about wide shots, medium shots, and close ups and what purposes they serve in the context of your film. Just a suggestion, Im not trying to bash.
The story seems pretty straight forward. Same old zombie scenario. Zombies eat, people kill zombies and so on. Thats what i enjoyed about takeback2 (which you can find on this site) ot took all the zombie cliches, and threw tem in your face with humor as its objective. As a result, it was a great short. I think there is more that can be done with Zombie flicks, but few attempt originality. Anyway my two cents. Good work guys, and kep it up. R. Michael

Thats ok not everyone is going to like Dead Life but at least see the movie before you attack the story line. We do have some surprises for ya. I do in fact know the "Basics" I'm not sure what your talking about because there are plenty of close ups medium and wide shots just in the trailer alone. Good call on the V/O it's just sad, sad, sad. Didn't occur to me till recently.

I wasnt saying you did or didnt know about them, just that they didnt seem well placed. There is a reason for a wide shot. There is a reason to cut from a MS to a CU. Its all about visual storytelling, and the emotional impact. Some stuff just seemed a little "loosey goosey" Not quite wide, not quite medium. Just my opinion. We can all improve on our composition. Its about filling the frame with something that tells a story, and is interesting. Glad to hear there is more to it. I caught the line about "The disease makes them walking dead, but dosent cause their hunger.." and it seemed to ellude to something more than a simple zombie flick. Keep at it. We learn by doing... If you post it, i shall watch. Best O' luck. R. M.
