I have like a fast modem or broadband or whatever (i don't know any of that stuff) so it goes really fast, I can download a 30 min film in less than 5 minutes or something

I have a hard time trying to watch films on this site, because my computer is so slow, it takes like an hour to download a 30 min film.

yeah, to see them in realtime you need DSL/Cable or higher. check bandwidthplace to see what your speed is, i've got DSL and mine tends to be around 720 kilobit/s, or 90kilobytes/s, enough to watch these movies instantly.

now is the time to get broadband, it's getting cheaper! so, jump on the bandwagon everyone! (pun intended)

yeah, that must be megabits ACF, 3.6 megabits equals 480 kilobytes per second. which equals DAMN FAST!

My father in law lives in Japan, where they don't have the restrictions on bandwidth that they do here (they do have a pretty hefty internet tax, though, so it evens out). He gets, and I'm not making this up, 12 mb/sec. I get 1.5, and that's fast enough for me.

by the way, when I said 12 mb/sec, i meant megaBYTES, not bits. Again, I'm not making it up. He get 12 MEGABYTES per second. But, living in Japan, he has to deal with Godzilla on a fairly regular basis, so it may not be worth it.

"12 MEGABYTES per second"

12 megabytes per second is quite simply SICK

btw, what connection is that? cause if it's T1 or T3 it's not that special..
