UGH.

This kid has the potential to do something so much more interesting, visually and story wise, but instead does a really stupid parody testing out effects that are low low in production value.

come on JP you know you can do better then this. i seen some of your earlier works and they show much more promise of talent.

yeah i think elements of cheesiness are blocking his potential. unmotivated choices in editing and effects spoil a flick

Thanks man. Too bad for those who don't like it. Oh well. It was never meant to be anything special or taken seriously. Just simply a fun piece of entertainment made with a best friend. Take it for what you like. I'd like to see someone come up with a piece like Steve/Off and write and film it all within 18 hours. By the way, for those interested, I just made this music video for probably one of my favorite songs ever. It'll be up on my website in the next couple of days. Thanks again Hoeks. And about wasted potential, well, an artist has got to do what an artist has got to do. And the best part about being an artist. He or she can be creative and fun with art anyway they like.

I was just wondering how old you are. Of course, the story is cheesy, some shots totally off...

however, if you have once a good short script in the future, I do not doubt that it will be a real good movie

I've seen so many student films with great stories but visually not interestingSmile

Well, it all starts with the script. It's the story that really matters. 50+ pieces I've done, but a very very small percentage of them have really meant something to me. They've mostly been a sort of training and preparation for when that one film does come around. But I'll tell you, when that occasional short is made, it really does feel good. And it's that feeling that I make films for. Luckily enough, those films seem to be the most liked most of the time.

I don't know if JUST BREATHE is in your category of special shorts, but I liked that one best (so far). Just my unworthy opinion!

And you're correct about being an artist and creating what you want (can we say John Lennon's TWO VIRGINS?)!

Myself, I'm wrapping up shooting a documentary about the making of a sculpture that goes to the Wright Brother's Memorial at Kitty Hawk in ten days for the Flight Centennial. While there will be four or five different finished pieces from the 60+ hours of raw footage (since May), most pieces will probably bore some people to tears - but each one will be MY finished piece, so I don't care!

In addition - hopefully each piece will have it's own target audience - and hopefully each piece will make a little money (one of the end results)!!! As much as I have enjoyed being a part of this project, I can't continue to shoot future projects if there is no chance of making some sort of return on my expense.

On the other hand, I consider this doc my "film school" as I have learned a tremendous amount since May!

Keep shooting. While I may not like all of your finished pieces, I do enjoy watching them (for many different reasons).
