Well, it is for me, anyway, because exactly one year ago from today, November 14th, is when I went on a 2-day trip to Washington and made my first film! I'm very glad I made it, too, because in retrospect, if I had never gone on the trip and made the film I would have missed out on a lot of opportunities. Like, for one, I never would have found this site! I also never would have seen Washington D.C. in all its glory (before all the Iraq ugliness...), I would have never done the great things and seen the great sights when I was there I'll probably remember for the rest of my life, and I would have never opened the door to my filmmaking career. Right now, I'm working on filmmaking full-tilt, and I have three films in the pipeline right now, all of which look promising for me, and I doubt I would have even thought of making those films without all the experience and encouragment I got making my first film. True, the film isn't perfect (if I went back in time a year, I would definetley do some things differently with it), but I'm told it's a great first effort, and plus I only originally intended this film for my high school's amusement.
*sigh* I can't believe it's been a year, and what a year it's been...
