This may very well be the epitome of the cliche student film. Sleeping problems, pills, suicide, yada yada. Don't sweat it, we've all got to get one of these out of our system. Try to formulate an orginal and worthwhile plot for your next project. You had some good shots in there, the mirror one in particular was very nice. A lot of the movie was underlit, and I couldn't see anything at all at times. You can pick up some cheap lights at home depot to light night scenes, or justt use ones around the house, like desk lamps (thats what I do). Also, original music gives a student film much more credibility, and there are a ton of composers lurking around these forums that are begging for projects. Good luck with your next project.
Hey, the way I see student films are that they are just like pencil sketches. And when we are presented with a big project down the line, we can use ideas that we have sketched out and that have worked! This would work great in a bigger film in my opinion. So i say keep going man. Keep sketching. Don't be afraid to make something because someone says it is cliche. Make anything you want. And if you enjoy making this genre then hell make it again and in time you will perfect it better than any of us.
yeah, this thing wasn't really planned out or anything, so i know its not all that well structured. the whole sleeping problems/sleeping pills thing is actually inspired from my actual insomnia. the pills i had in the film are my prescription sleeping pills. the basic idea came from the strange dreams i have from taking those pills. thanks for your input!
