I really enjoyed this peice. I love the little twist at the end, even though I saw it coming. I will say, very nicely done on the reflection of the janitor on the car window. You didnt leave it there too long, and it had the perfect amount of suspense. Very good Drew.
However, and I know you were assigned you assistant camera, but the camera op. lost focus alot, and It made it a little rough.
As a DP myself I will say, the lighting was ok, but I think your dp could have lit his scenes to be a little more suspenseful.
The writing was good, and you directed this peice pretty good. I will say the editing could have been better, but it is satisfactory. Now I didnt like the montage of pics at the end there with all the quick cuts...I think that could have been done alot better.
Other than that my friend, very nice work. I like how you kept it light hearted there at the end so your audience was not dissapointed by a tragedy.
I give you 3 1/2 stars

"Art only does so much, and sometimes it doesn't even pay the bills!"-AFC President
Well, while I would be sorry for getting your friends to sway your average rating, I wouldn't be sorry for making Scum, because I actually thought it was pretty good! And well, I guess I have to see if Sweet Love really does top it, which I hope it does.

Uh...no....but, to my surprise, apparently there are a lot of people named Dan Gross out there (I know one of them is a movie reviewer for a Philadelphia newspaper and another one writes for an airliner magazine).

Hey Drew. You went to the NYFA? If so. I would expect more from this film. You said you new the lighting and focus was messed up but enough to not get worried over right? Well if you went to NYFA you would have learned that lighting and focus can make or break your film and would have done those few extra steps to make your film better.
