XL1 shoots progressive only at 30 fps. The XL2 has the option of shooting at 24p.

if you turn the circle thing on the side to the A then go into the menu and look at video setup (i think) you should see an option for "frame mode" if you turn that on it will slow your frame rate down to 24fps i think. its amazing, i use it all the time.

Matt B. - this is one of two posts where you've stated that frame mode is 24p - just clearing the air for you and others who may view this thread, frame mode is not 24p, and the output is drastically different from 24p. I have shot on both a DVX (more frequently) and a GL1 - which has frame mode. Play with a DVX or XL2, or watch some footage, 24p is far different than frame mode, both technically and visually.

I have a gL2 and the frame mode doesn't do anything. It just gives you a more film like look (If u ask me it doeesn't look anything like film). The gL2 and the Xl1 and xl1s all shoot at 29.97 fps interlaced, NOT PROGRESSIVE. Only the dvx and the xl2 shoot progressive... that I know of. If you ask me, I think all the frame mode does is add a film like motion blur that simulates the slower speed of 24fps.
