I've been tinkering with a Blood Sprayer for some time after checking out some tutorials linked to from SF.
Me & my crew have finally nailed a REALLY Good and REALLY Simple blood spraying machine/device.
Its based off the same insecticide sprayer that most use, but to put it simple we used hose clamps to connect the first host part to the container, then a ball valve (quick on & off) to connect the 2nd hose part.
Didn't explain it too well, but basically the design we've got means that the air is seperate from the blood entirely which means you don't have to worry about the blood draining back into the insecticide sprayer, if that makes sense.
Anyways, I'll be posting some pics and outlines on making it, but it works really, really well and we made it in about an hour driving included. Cost was $25, but that was including all parts.
Cheers

its always encouraging to see someone take an old model and improve on it. Can't wait to see what you came up with!

As you can see there is A LOT of force and blood, but we're planning on making it fairly gory though as well. We found that a smaller container is fairly easy to hide too, plus if you position it well in the shirt, very hard to detect.
I'll post the a quick guide to ours, and its definitely simpler then many others on the net, no need to mess with the actual container itself other then to remove the hose attachment and replace it with the modified garden hose (which is where the fun comes in).
Anyways, we found that like other blood sprayers the best way to get a lot of "splay" with your "spray" is to tape the top off and then notch out like a V so it hits the top then is forced out the V. Ours splayed out a bit too "standard" but thats something you can modify on your own time.
One thing I'd definitely suggest is a long length of hose, we were using 1/2ft till our switch and then 6' till the end and it didn't give us enough wiggle room. We're going to make a couple more lengths of hose for it, and since we are using a 3/8" couplig on the end of each hose, it just screws in & the valve is a swivel one so its fairly flexible as well.
Anyways, we're happy with the initial results, and the pressure is just as good as we hoped. We've though about doing a CO2 powered one, but doesn't seem like its necessary since the air pressure with this so great anyway.
Although the one problem we can't seem to work around is having the blood come out in such a long stream, so that requires some thought.
Cheers though.

Yah, well we had some more test shots that had various levels of spray (depends on how much you flay the end of hte hose & we had duct tape shaped over the nossle depending on where we wanted to shoot it) and some of those looked a bit different, perhaps better.
I'm going to look at some more gunshots from movies and try and perfect the system some.
This weekend I'm going to add a second blood pump which will be awesome since it allows A) blood to shoot out the back too so much more realisitic, and B) two gunshots on the same person. So two pumps looks to be a sweet spot.
Also building a stand and most likely purchasing some new tubing thats more flexible, I'll post pics of it this weekend

If people are actually interested I can get a list of parts together.
Important thing we've discovered is to make sure your blood mixter is as dark as possible and that youd drain the sprayer after each shot since it gets frothy, EX:
Looks pinkish if its not darkenough when combined with froth, also look out for kinks, we were supposed to have a second sprayer shooting out the back, but it kinked up like heck
