Hi everyone. I am planning to buy or build a DOF 35mm adapter. I found a tutorial to make one (http://jetsetmodels.info/tutorials.htm), but couldn't find any review on it (whether it's good or not, pros, cons etc). Also I found that the 2 cheapest were the RNG35 and CINAdapter-N1. I have a Canon HV20 ...and I would like to know which of these is the best. thank you very much in advance to those who will answer to this. I really appreciate the effort you make and the time you take to reply :-)

I don't have any experience with the adapters you listed, but on my last short my DP and I decided to use a P+S Technik mini35 DoF adapter. I was kind of disappointed, to be honest. There were problems with focusing and the frame getting fuzzy, especially in lower light levels.

Big factors to consider are how many stops of light are you going to lose, in addition to how heavy these things can get. I will say that I've heard good things about the Movietube Jr. from Abel Cine Tech, but it's also $4,500.

As for ready-made adapters, the best ones to look at are the SGPro, LetusExtreme, Brevis35, and Redrock M2. From what I've heard/seen, the SGPro and LEX are the best, while the Brevis loses the least amount of light (but doesn't have the best bokeh), and the M2 needs some updating.
