yippee, my brother and i are making a movie for church. we're doing david and goliath we're gonna use a trial version of after effects for the effects. i'm pretty excited about it, but so far it's not goin that great. my brothers friends that r going to help aren't helping much, at all!!!! my brother wrote a script and his friend doesn't check his email(even though we called him to tell him to) so now we can't start shooting, because we don't no if my brothers friends approve of the script. which sucks because we have to finish by february 16. if anyone has any tips on the filming, cutting the amount of money we use anything, feel free to post them.

I don't set out to make "art" I just try to make something with a beginning, middle, end, and some characters...the art seems to come during the process.

1)The second biggest part of the budget of one of my films is food. If you getting people to work for free for you, food always helps to keep them enthused.

2)E-mail is not the best means of communication. Actually physically hand people scripts, and watch them read it.

3) Do not count on friends. No offence or nothing, but the best people to work on with productions for me are people that have a genuine interest in filmaking, and arent just there to have a good time.

4)Tell people the deadline is a week or so earlier that what it is. Then you have a week or so to go over if need be.

thanks, and really we're lucky enough that our friends are pretty interested in filmmaking. and ur right about e-mail, i will never trust it again. people don't check their email, i mean wat's the point in having it if ur not gonna really use it, it's the same as people leaving their cell phone off all the time. any ways thanks again. Smile
