what is a good camera to purchase for under a thousand dollars? what qualities should i look for in a camera for under that price? also, even better, does anyone have any specific examples of actual cameras they own or know of for that price that are best quality for that price? i need the camera soon so the more specific the better. thank u.

I just bought a Panasonic PV GS120. The retail price is about $700. I got a used one, camera only, for $250 on ebay. It's 3CCD and has some pretty good reviews. There are other models like the 120 from Panasonic that are more expensive and have a few more features. Check out camcorderinfo.com for some goood reviews on other cameras. I know there are some other 3CCD cameras under $1k that are better than mine that the site lists.

Kinor 16CX-2M. $500-700 on eBay, but shipping from Russia will take about two weeks.
