I'm working on an experimental animation and need specific sound effects such as vehicles driving in the desert, for example. Any good gun and explosion effects will well received. Where vehicles are concerned, motorcyles and cadillacs(if possible) would be prefered. Last but not least, and this may sound a little strange, if you have a recording of a radiator hose blowing up, send it. I'll appreciate it. Basically, the film I'm doing is a film noir-western(U-Turn anyone?). So anything related to that theme will be most welcome.

Thankyou

A good place to look for these sound effects is videogames. They usually have a folder (either on the hard-drive or CD). If you don't have too many games I guess this won't help much. If you need some gun effects I could send you some, that's about all I have though.

you don't really need a car to make it sound like a car, just like you don't need a real hose blowing up, just record it yourself and be creative.

for example, we needed the sound of a hubcap flying off the car and bouncing down the road, so we got a soda can, poured out the contents, squashed it flat, tied a rope to the little pull tab, and bounced it against a fire extinguisher (we tried it on the desk first, then the door, then the tile in the bathroom, it turns out a full fire extinguisher actually sounds a lot like a hubcap hitting the road, so that's the noise we ended up using), and it worked, no one even questioned it when we reviewed it in class

(this was for a sound class, so people were really paying attention to the sound)
