Hello!

I want to make with my friends a low budget film and I think the microphone built in the camera has not the quality that I want. How can I resolve the problem?

Please help!

your best bet is to go with an external (mono-recording) shotgun microphone. Sony makes some good ones I think that go for about $90-150 (estimation). For good audio, you might also want to think about getting an XLR adapter (assuming the camcorder you own only has a mini-plug mic input).

If you want one good for your money, and are on a low budget, I would have to suggest the ECM-MSD1 from sony. I got one for all my camcorders.

The Sony ext mics aren't that cheap for what you get... for something low-end that will do the job, the Azden ones are OK. You also get a full mount, different pickups, and a windscreen. Many of the other mics don't include these accessories.

Thanks for the answers. I have checked out the azden homepage and found some microphones. Which one is for a low price a good choice (but I mean a really low price)?

Best regards!
