I want to purchase one 3CCD camcorder, either miniDV, DV or HDV. I am confused while chosing the SONY models available on Sony.com (USA site) and Sony.co.in (India site). I can purchase from USA or within India, depending upon the availability of the chosen model. Please guide me after going through my following observations.
1) Models available in India are mostly miniDV type and there is only one HDV model available. Though plenty of models are available in USA, they support NTSC (as mentioned in the specifications). So, if I purchase one camcorder from USA, can I use it here in India (for PAL productions)?
2) On the site at one place it was mentioned that one of the HDV camcorder models (Sony HDR FX-1 HDV) supports 1440x1080 resolution. But I was confused to see that another HDV camcorder (Sony HDR HC-1 HDV 1080i) supports upto 530 lines of horizontal resolution. Therefore, please clarify what are the resolutions corresponding to miniDV, standard DV and HDV video standards?
3) If I want a camcorder which should support a video of atleast 720x576 pixels, which type of camcorder should I opt for?
