I'm no Luddite. I love my G5 and I also like technology - but I appreciate older equipment because the build quality was far superior and the engineering is frequently excellent.

For the record I write my scripts using a computer and I also edit in an NLE. Combining the best of both worlds is fine - unless you specifically want scratches, etc. editing on a flatbed is not that advantageous.

Sony just announced a new CineAlta. Variable framerate to 60 FPS, 4:4:4 (to 30 FPS). Ready for NAB 07. 14 bit A/D converter. Looks very nice for 1080p!

National Association of Broadcasters
It's a trade show where a lot of the video technology gets announced.

CES (consumer electronic show) is another one.
