Ok, I was bored and was watching El Mariachi with the commentary for the 200th time, and I had a question about something Rodriguez said. He talks about using "thirty-thirty gauge" diffusion. I am just wondering what this means specifically as far as diffusion goes. I am not too down with all the lighting lingo.

A diffusion gel, or a diffusion sheet is just something you lay over the light to make it softer...Otherwise you get uneven light that looks ugly...

Dont take my word for it, but I think thats what it is...i use some diffusion Gel sheets with my work-lights, and they make the light softer.

Get different colored ones, so you can use more than one light-source and add dimension to your characters...Color is very important to film in my opinion...you set the mood through color and lighting.

Rodriguez is one lucky bastard...I'll get mine though...Ill get mine...

Cheers!

Actually, I meant what the thirty-thirty gauge meant.
