As in meters and / or feet?
Reason I ask is because I have just completed a feature and I used 23 tapes all in all + another 10 or so for auditions.

Cheers

There's something so satisfying about having dozens of hours of footage, isn't there? Other than that, I'm afraid I can't answer the question.

jeez. no idea. i mean, you and I know that they run for an hour.

30 or so tapes is quite up there. thats awesome.

I did a six minute music video and we have 10 hours worth of footage. It's quite crazy.

Well, in SP mode, the tape moves at 18.812mm/sec. You could use that to figure out how long the tape is because you know that your tapes are probably 63 minute long.

Lets see, call it 19mm per sec.
Times that by 60 seconds and we get 1140. Is this cm or metres?

times 1140 by 60 mins and we get 68400
Is that 68 metres 400 cm?

You're multiplying mm (millimeters) so it stays in mm. 68,400mm = 68.4 meters; 224.41 feet; or 0.0369 nautical miles. Smile

wow Paul lol, how many takes did you guys do?

Generally for every minute of footage we have, we try to record at most six takes of it. Then with scenes where we want extra shots it averages out to about six minutes of unedited footage per minute of finished footage.

SO 1-DV Tape per 10 Minutes. Albeit, we don't run length to length, we generally only use abotu 60-90% of the tape jst to give some room.

Darkfire,

We did multiple angles. We went through the song from three angles, about 20 times in a few different places. Then we shot some solo stuff with each band member with two and three angles, followed by storylines. All in all, I'm up to 9 hours and 43 minutes.

Wow, that's a lot of footage. I know that the tapes are pretty long, because when I was still in high school we wrapped a broken tape around someone, and when we were finished he was mummified completely.

Lets see 10x6=60, 60x3+180
180mm divded by 90mm=2mm
2mm squared=4mm times the original 10=40mm
40mm+(100x100)=400000mm
And there you have it.
