i was watching the lord of the rings extended edition special features and they talked about how in the scene where gandalfs horse kicks the guy into the fire, the horse wasn't going to go near the fire so they set up a sheet of glass in front of the camera at an angle, had a bonfire going on over to the side so that u see the reflection. they didn't even have to touch up the flames in post. I just thought that was cool.


I don't set out to make "art" I just try to make something with a beginning, middle, end, and some characters...the art seems to come during the process.

Yeah, I watched that too. Now when I watch the movie itself, I can kind of see where we got jipped in good cinemtography, but still, applicable knowledge to our advantage.
