Has anyone had much experience with the Rode Video Mic. I believe that it's about $20 cheaper than the Sennheiser MKE300. It's a condenser mic; not electret condenser. I want to use it for regular ole film production. I also heard that the cable on the Sennheiser can become worn out very quickly. Is this true?
Thanks

I am a big fan of Rode Mics, they a offer good quality, nice sounding and cheaper alternative up in the pro end. The rode video mic is quite nice, i havnt had too much to do with it but it is definitly worth looking at. I havn't done a side by side comparison between the video mic and the MKE300, so i cant fairly compare quality.
