I have an AGDVX100. Im looking to shoot a scene that involves serveral computers and computer screens. Laptops are not an option. I understand that if I put the camera at 60i Ill be able to get less waves, however I would like to use a slower speed...any suggestions or tricks?
Thanks

Well, to be honest, I would shoot at regular speed and then do some motion tracking for the screens, then remove and add whatever you wanted for the screens IN post production.

This could be done in After Effects or Combustion easily. As far as filming at slower speeds, well, someone else will have to help you there--

Good luck!

The DVX100 has a setting that allows you to shoot computer screens w/o the roll. Here's what I found online about it:

"Scan Matching with Synchro-Scan
When shooting computer or multi-scan monitor displays, the AG-DVX100 with Synchro-Scan will stop most monitors from flickering, shrink the raster bar, and the image will not roll"

yeah, most of the higher end camcorders, like the gl2 and xl1s and ag-dvx100 are really good about keeping those annoying bars on computer screens and tvs. My GL2 never lets them show up.

Well Ill have to double check but im pretty sure Ive tried shooting it and the bars were there...when I put it on 60 they would stop for the most part...was this possibily just on my lcd and not on the tape itself? Or do I have to turn this synchro scan itself on?

If I remember correctly, the synchro scan option is in the camera setup menu. Enable it there. If you saw bars on your LCD then its on the tape.

Plug the monitors and your camera into the one power supply. then
for NTSC cameras:
set the refresh rate for the monitors to 60hz, then set ur cameras shutter speed to 60 times a second.

for PAL cameras:
set the refresh rate for the monitors to 50hz, then set ur cameras shutter speed to 50 times a second.
