Hey, I'm just getting started in filmmaking and as of now because of my funds am using a fairly good quality Sony Handycam...but the only problem is it's analog. Should I shell out the extra bucks for a digital video camera? (keep in mind I'm working off a lifeguard's pay-which sucks) Or get the Dazzle Analog to DV Bridge? If I did get this would it be compatible with FCP or Premier? Thanks in advance.

Id suggest digital, I checked out my local circuit city a few days ago and the prices had dropped about $150 for the newer versions of cameras from several months ago. From expierence Id suggest either a ZR-60, GL2, or an XL1. GL2 will run you about a Thousand something but very nice camera. Im using a ZR-45 and its great in good lighting, but in poor lighting its pretty dismal but it will only run you about $550 for the newer series.

Here's a siteGl2 Stat Page that breakdowns what's new with the GL2 and you can see why its a great camera...also offers a price on it and price with accessories.
It's around 1800 american so that'd be approx. 2500 canadian. Of course if you shop around their will be cheaper and more expensive deals and packages.

Good luck.

If you don't look I'll force you to _=_

Thanks a lot guys, I'll look into that GL2. Although it may be a bit pricey...hey, it'll be worth it.
