Im thinking of making a film in 8mm and ive been surfing around on ebay and various other websites for a camera and film. Ive been able to find a couple sites that have decent cameras for sale so thats not really a problem. But does anyone know anywhere either in montreal or that would ship to canada that would sell 8mm film? Also i read somewhere on this forum that 8mm film costs around $500 cdn for 40minutes of film, is that true?

Hi!
When you say you're thinking of making a film in 8mm do you mean Regular 8mm or Super-8mm?
Either way, I think it's great that you want to try your hand at shooting with real film.

yea, you're not supposed to shoot 40 minutes of 8mm. 8mm was for home movies. 5 minutes, max.

kodak still sells 8mm on their website i think. it's called Cinepak, Cinecolor, and i forget what the Super8mm is called. Tri-X and Plus-X i think, although it's not the same as B/W 35mm film.
